Today we have a guest! Eric Platteau, the author of the late blog “Schaerbeek is fantastic”, is honoring us with an intervention! And he can come back whenever he wants! Here’s his post.Hear ye, Hear ye good people of Schaerbeek and surroundings. Important notice to the gourmet population: the best Fritkot of Schaerbeek is worth a visit!

“Chez Albert” or “La Friterie Chez Les Big Moustaches” is located at the intersection of Voltaire Avenue and General Eenens Street.

Open for more than 6 months – following a call for tenders from the commune for a concession of fritkot – Albert will delight you with its crispy fries. Pure Brusselair with a proud and frizz moustache, Albert prepares the French fries in a very traditional way and has a menu with Brussels’ specialties : Hamburger des Marolles, rock and roll meatballs, Flemish carbonnades, in addition to all the classic dishes found in a fritkot. Albert already has his little success… It is open 7/7 and his colleague takes care of the service during the weekends.

So I tested for you – rather for me actually. DELICIOUS. Aaaah! This is the crispy fries we need, prepared as it should. I would not be surprised that in some time, we find the fritkot “Chez Albert” classified among the best of the entire Brussels region: it has the know-how, the Brussel brusselair style and the willingness to propose typical Brussels’ dishes.

So, I’m telling you, shall we meet in the line to order a cone of French fries? Here is the Facebook page for all the additional information.

“Vintage” contribution of a former blogger. Thanks to Sabrina and Olivier for opening me their page online and especially Bravo to them blogging on the best topic: Schaerbeek of course!
